Brandenburg (Germany): first barrier-free sailing catamaran christened for sailing on inland lakes.

It’s great to see this project comes to reality… it is the result of a long process going back to 2007 with first talks within the members of NGO Saildream1 (settled in Bad Belzig/Germany) about the idea of creating a barrier free yacht for sailing. – Congrats to the whole team and my sailing friend Udo Zeller, president of Saildream1.

The first barrier-free sailing catamaran for sailing on inland lakes was yesterday presented to the public at the BUGA 2015 in Brandenburg (Germany). The cat was christened “Olaf“. The Catamaran is a trans-national project, and a cooperation  between Yacht Concepts & Design Carsten Weber (Stade), glas fibre technology Peter Heinrich (Gommern) and Saildream1 eV (NGO in Bad Belzig). The aim of the project development team is still to sail the cat this year.
