How to build a Trimaran ? – The complexity to construct a speedy, stable and safe trimaran is given by three hulls, being connected by beams and driven by a powerful rig (modern trimarans are equipped with canting and rotating wing masts) and some units for trimming the boat (e.g. center daggerboard, foiled daggerboards, T-rudders).
To sail efficiently a trimaran must be built using light displacement methods (e.g. plywood-fibre). New materials (kevlar, carbon) and composite methods (vaccum infusion, cold moulded infusion) keep trimarans competitive as the fastest sailing boats.
